The Bowood Advantage
Bowood is a small-volume home builder that specializes in design-build custom homes and renovations.
We complete about 8 – 10 new houses per year, along with several renovations and some commercial construction. We have been fortunate to work on many interesting and challenging projects in central Alberta and we are proud of the results. After all these years we can still say that we’re excited about our work and treat every new project with enthusiasm!
Where do we build?
We build and renovate in the Central Alberta region. Most of our work takes place in the Red Deer area and Sylvan Lake. Many of our Sylvan Lake homes are vacation properties for clients from Calgary, Edmonton, or even further afield, so we have lots of strategies for working long-distance with our clients. While we generally do not have an inventory of lots, we are happy to work with our clients to find the perfect lot, acreage, or vacation property.

We have an open, transparent, and detailed budgeting and accounting system where all financial information is shared with our clients. Our clients have complete access to quotes, change order costs, and other financial information regarding their project. Any and all builder discounts that Bowood receives are passed onto our clients, including early payment discounts and year-end rebates.
Communication
Open, clear, positive communication is the key to managing the smallest to the largest construction project.
Controlling Costs
It is Bowood’s fiduciary responsibility to ensure that we are acting in our clients’ best interest in obtaining “good value” for all aspects of construction – the best combination of price, quality and timeliness.
